04.03.25 Smoky Mountain High School Indoor Rock Climb (Group A)

General Program Description

Waypoint Adventure’s partnership with Smokey Mountain High School will provide a goal-focused and accessible adventure program. During this program, you and your group will be encouraged to confront your limitations and attain your goals – all within the framework of self-discovery and fun! The specific goals and concepts for these programs will depend on the participants needs and will be derived through collaboration with Waypoint and Smoky Mountain High School.

Specific Program Description

This is the 4th program for our 5 part spring semester adventure series and we are going indoor rock climbing! Our program schedule will look close to the format below:

• 9am: Opening Circle
• 9:10am: Goal Talk
• 9:20am: Gear up!
• 9:30am: Watch Climbing Demonstration
• 9:40am:Climb! We will have about an hour dedicated for everyone to climb once, and hopefully, everyone who desires will get multiple turns!
• 10:40am: Return Gear
• 10:50am: Closing Circle/Experience Reflection

Location:  Western Carolina University Climbing Gym 

                   379 Memorial Dr. Cullowhee, NC 28723

Time:  9:00am-11:00am

What to Wear/Bring:

• Clothing that is easy to move in (long pants are most comfortable with a harness)
• Socks: not required but many like to have them when wearing rental shoes
• Waterbottle 
• Snack (if needed)
• Fidget: if needed to help when waiting for turn
