Hike Description
Waypoint Adventure will be guiding an accessible hike for people with disabilities. We will be hiking the Lake trail loop at Crowders Mountain State Park. The length of the trail is 1 mile. Waypoint Adventure has a variety of off-road hiking wheel chairs to accommodate you if needed. Once registered, we will be in touch to discuss specific needs and accommodations.
Cost
Cost per participant is $20. However please do not let the cost discourage you from joining us. Scholarships are available for those who need it. If a scholarship accommodation is needed, please reach out.
Location/Directions
Crowders Mountain State Park
522 Park Office Lane, Kings Mountain, NC 28086
Once you enter the park, follow our Green Waypoint Adventure directional signs. You can also follow state park signs to direct you to the Lake Trail. We will meet at the Lake Trail parking lot. There are multiple parking lots in this area, please find the one closest to the Lake Trail. Look for our pop-up tent with the Waypoint logo on the day of the trip.
What to Bring
Accommodations and equipment can be made by special request, please email or call Waypoint at least two weeks before the date of the trip to make arrangements.
Conditions
This is a flat trail in a wooded area that follows along a nine acre Lake. The surrounding woods are full of trees varying in types including maple, beech and a variety of oaks. There is a small bog along the trail where Great Blue Heron like to hang out, so keep your eyes peeled!
Transportation
Waypoint will not be providing transportation.
Bathrooms
Accessible restrooms are located at the Crowders Mountain State Park Visitor Center or in the parking lot at the lake.
