Hike Description

Waypoint Adventure will be guiding an accessible hike for people with disabilities. We will be hiking Paddy's Creek trail. This is an out-and-back hike, 2 miles. Waypoint Adventure has a variety of off-road hiking wheel chairs to accommodate you if needed. Once registered, we will be in touch to discuss specific needs and accommodations.

Cost

Cost per participant is $20. However please do not let the cost discourage you from joining us. Scholarships are available for those who need it. If a scholarship accommodation is needed, please reach out.

Location/Directions

Lake James State Park -Paddy's Creek

2229 Lake James State Park Rd, Nebo, NC 28761, USA

Once you enter the park, follow our Green Waypoint Adventure directional signs. We will meet in the Paddy's Creek Beach parking lot. Look for our pop-up tent with the Waypoint logo in the parking lot on the day of the trip.

What to Bring

Accommodations and equipment can be made by special request, please email or call Waypoint at least two weeks before the date of the trip to make arrangements.

• Lunch (we will eat lunch together before the hike!)

• Warm fleece or wool jacket (if needed)
• Wind & waterproof jacket
• Sunscreen
• Sunglasses
• Bug spray
• Backpack
• Hiking boots or comfortable sneakers

Conditions 

This is a gentle sloping trail in a wooded area that follows along Lake James and provides views of the lake. The parking area is large and paved.

Transportation

Waypoint will not be providing transportation.

Bathrooms

Accessible restrooms are located at Paddy's Creek beach area.
