Hike Description
Waypoint Adventure will be guiding an accessible hike for people with disabilities. Rumbling Bald is a 1.5-mile trail that is technically a part of Chimney Rock State Park. This trail takes you to boulder fields and to the base of the cliffs of Rumbling Bald Mountain that towers over Lake Lure. The large parking area is about two miles from the main Chimney Rock State Park entrance (so there's no admission fee here). This trail is located outside of Chimney Rock State Park.
Cost
Cost per participant is $20. However please do not let the cost discourage you from joining us. Scholarships are available for those who need it. If a scholarship accommodation is needed, please reach out.

Address to parking area: 827 Boys Camp Rd, Lake Lure, NC 28746
We will meet in the parking lot. Look out for our green Waypoint Directional signs to get you where you need to be!
What to Bring
Accommodations and equipment can be made by special request, please email or call Waypoint at least two weeks before the date of the trip to make arrangements.
Conditions
The start of this hike has beautiful mountain views right from the parking lot! The rest of the hike is in a wooded area with some uphill sections. The trees on this trail help provide shade while hiking. We will be able to spot wildlife and a boulder fields on this adventure together.
Transportation
Waypoint will not be providing transportation.
Bathrooms
Accessible restrooms are located at the trail head parking lot.
