Hike Description
This hike will take participants to one of Western North Carolina's iconic waterfalls, Hickory Nut Falls! Waypoint Adventure will be joining Chimney Rock State Park on two Naturalist guided hikes to make them fully accessible to people with disabilities who are visiting the park, while celebrating National Trail Days. We will hike the popular Hickory Nut Falls trail, which takes you to the bottom of one of the tallest waterfalls east of the Mississippi River. Reward yourself with a magnificent view from the base of this 404-foot natural wonder. It was featured in the epic film, “The Last of the Mohicans.”
Waypoint Adventure will be guiding an accessible hike for people with disabilities. We will be meeting at the top of the park to the right of the gift shop. The Hickory Nut Falls trail is an out and back hike, approximately 1.4 miles. Waypoint Adventure has a variety of off-road hiking wheelchairs to accommodate you if needed. Once registered, we will be in touch to discuss specific needs and accommodations.
